Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals in Liverpool are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities associated with the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle in Liverpool requires:
- To rent a vehicle in Liverpool, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur extra charges. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, and it must have been held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, you need to present valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment information and a security deposit are also necessary, along with any other criteria mentioned in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or in person at our Liverpool office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, please conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. It is required that you return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, factoring in reasonable wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle must also be returned with the same level of fuel as at pickup; refueling fees will apply if not. Late returns could result in extra charges, so please get in touch with us if you foresee any delays. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during your rental, along with an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals in Liverpool include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to help limit your financial liability. It's important to review these options closely. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless covered by additional insurance. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will remain your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. Activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. Use must align with intended vehicle specifications, including passenger and weight limits. Driving outside the agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent is not permitted.
Breaching these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Liverpool accepts no responsibility for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, linked to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to claims related to negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or to instances of fraud.
9. Applicable Law in Liverpool
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
10. Terms Updates
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
