Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To rent a vehicle in Liverpool, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, you must present valid identification along with proof of your current address. Payment information and a security deposit are also necessary. Any further requirements will be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Liverpool office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Liverpool, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied accordingly. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when collected; refueling fees will be charged if the fuel level is lower. Returns made after the agreed time may incur additional fees, so please contact us if you foresee a delay. You will be held accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that occur during the rental period, plus an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Overview
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and any applicable excess amounts will be outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to further limit your financial liability. It is wise to examine these options closely. You will be responsible for damages or losses up to the insurance excess, except when additional coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms falls under your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and how much notice is provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional fees.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Your Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful purpose or activity is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other activities that pose risks is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials, sub-letting the vehicle, or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and driving outside agreed geographical boundaries without appropriate authorization is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Liverpool will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts in these jurisdictions.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
